Plastic Surgery Utah
Plastic surgery in Utah has come a long way since Dr. Grant R. Fairbanks started practicing in 1972.
Dr. Fairbanks moved to Salt Lake City from Cincinnati, Ohio, where he had served as chairman of the plastic surgery division at the University of Cincinnati.
Prior to that, Dr. Fairbanks had served as a resident at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Before that, he completed a general residency at University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Fairbanks served as plastic surgeon on the hospital ship hope (Project Hope) in during its 8th voyage to Tunis, Tunisia.
In 2008, Dr. Fairbanks was joined in his practice by his son, Grant A. Fairbanks, who trained in Pennsylvania and did a craniofacial fellowship at Indiana University. His special interest and expertise is in restoring ears in patients born with microtia (tiny, malformed ears). Both Dr. Grant R. Fairbanks and Dr. Grant A. Fairbanks are accomplished artists as well as surgeons. They believe that plastic surgery is the finest of the fine arts. Together, they teach an art course at the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery entitled Medical Life Drawing and Sculpture. They both serve on the adjunct faculty of the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Utah School of Medicine.
We work in all major areas of plastic surgery. Our signature operations for which we are well known include a 20-year-younger face lift, rhinoplasty, including nasal airway surgery (nasal septum and turbinates), secondary rhinoplasty to correct noses of patients who have suffered unsuccessful nose jobs, and the reconstruction or restoration of the ear in cases of microtia.
We hope you enjoy our site, where you can view the types of work we perform, including before and after photographs of representative examples.
