Botox Injections (Botulinum Toxin)
Excessive frown lines and forehead wrinkling can make you look angry. Softening the expression through Botox cosmetic treatment can help improve your appearance.
Frown lines, wrinkling in the forehead, and crows feet lines can all be improved by the careful administration of Botox, which is an injection of diluted botulinum toxin type treatment into the overactive muscles which are responsible for the wrinkles.
Botox, or botulinum toxin, is a chemical agent produced by a bacteria called Clostridia Botulinum. In nature, it is considered to be a powerful poison due to its ability to cause muscular paralysis.
Once purified, this agent can be used medically to create a weakness in over-active muscles. The FDA has approved Botox to be used to create a local weakness, or partial paralysis, of the frequently over-active muscles that cause wrinkling, frown lines, and crow’s feet, resulting in aesthetic improvement.
Carefully measured increments of diluted and purified botulinum toxin are injected into specific muscles, which reduces or eliminates the patient’s ability to wrinkle or frown. Without muscular activity, the wrinkles tend to fade until the muscles regain their tone. Botox injections typically last around three to four months.
